encompasses four divisions: SPIRE Academy, an accredited college
preparatory international boarding school and multi-sport/specialty
training and development academy for 9-12 graders and a post grad
program; SPIRE Institute, the research and development arm studying
performance improvement across multiple disciplines; SPIRE Events,
a facility and team that hosts local, national and international
tournaments and events with the NCAA. Olympic trials and world
championship qualifiers; and SPIRE Fit, a community
membership-based fitness, swim and health center open to the
public. Sports currently featured on campus include swimming, track
and field, basketball, esports, drone racing, wrestling and
lacrosse.Position Overview:The Operations & Activities Coordinator
at SPIRE Academy's Camps Department offers a unique opportunity to
gain hands-on experience in activity coordination, operations,
leadership, and youth development. This internship/part-time
position is ideal for individuals passionate about working in
sports with young athletes, planning and executing engaging
activities, and contributing to the overall success of SPIRE Camps.
Operations & Activities Coordinators will play an instrumental role
in both administrative and logistical tasks, ensuring smooth daily
operations, safety, and an exceptional experience for all campers.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following
tasks):Activity Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with the Camp Sales and Service Coordinator to
assist in developing a creative and diverse activity schedule for
camp sessions.
- Lead and facilitate assigned camp activities, ensuring they run
smoothly, are engaging, and adhere to the schedule.
- Responsible for activity set-up, clean-up and management of
camp activity equipment, games, and supplies.
- Attend off-campus excursions with campers for supervision and
safety.On-Site Camp Logistics:
- Assist with camp processes including camp check-in and
check-out, residential life, and coordination of camp
activities.
- Help set up and dismantle camp facilities, maintain hydration
stations, and assist coaches with equipment needs.
- Accompany campers to & from camp training sessions, activities,
and other events.Safety & Emergency Protocols:
- Adhere to SPIRE Academy's safety protocols and emergency
procedures to ensure the well-being of campers.
- Be prepared to assist with emergency response protocols,
including communication coordination and incident reporting.Survey
& Reporting:
- Administer camper surveys and compile results in a shared
spreadsheet.
- Mandatory reporting of camper code of conduct violations to the
Director of Camps.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in sports
management, business administration, or a related field is a
plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for youth development and a commitment to the SPIRE
Academy mission.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and
independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the
ability to learn and use camp-specific software.
- Enthusiasm for sports and a passion for providing a positive
camp experience for young athletes.
- Must consent to background screening and complete SafeSport
training.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Benefits:
