hospitals in the nation.Magnetic resonance imaging technologists,
also referred to as MRI technologists, utilize magnetic resonance
imaging scanners to capture specific images ordered by a physician
to aid in patient diagnosis. MRI technologists must be able to
closely follow a physician's instructions, prepare and operate MRI
equipment, position patients correctly, and effectively record the
requested diagnostic images. -A caregiver in this position works
Day/Evening Rotation, from 11:00am-7:30pm or 7:00am-4:00pm. - - -A
caregiver who excels in this role will: - -
- Prepare and check patients prior to MRI procedure. -
- Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and
data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI
examination. -
- Verify and validate the patient screening safety form. -
- Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily
QA. -
- Perform venipunctures. -
- Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exams.

- Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.

- Assist with scheduling patients. -
- Administer proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam.

- Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS. -
- Complete after-hours transmission of images and appropriate
paperwork. -
- Immediately report any malfunctions, observe potential
equipment dysfunctions and report problems or call for service. -
- Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for
patient accessibility. -
- Process billing via RIS. -
- Potentially rotate through all imaging modalities, sites,
and/or locations. -Minimum qualifications for the ideal future
caregiver include: - -
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or
graduate of an accredited institution per the primary pathway of
the ARRT. -
- Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry
of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(R) (ARRT), or R.T.(S)(ARRT), or
R.T.(T)(ARRT), in good standing. - -
- OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American
Registry of Radiologic Technologists R.T.(N) (ARRT) in good
standing or be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. ARDMS
and NMTCB are primary pathways. -
- Certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging: R.T.(MR)(ARRT)
required within one year of hire. -
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. -
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic
processes. -Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver
include: -
- One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or
experience in other imaging modalities. -Our caregivers continue to

- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of
time.
- Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying
weight and manipulate equipment daily.
- Requires frequent pushing and pulling of equipment up to 75
