advancementWe are actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Wax
and Core Design Engineer to join and grow in the PPG organization.
The Wax and Core Die Designer will be responsible for designing
precision dies used in the production of wax & cores for investment
casting in aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have
expertise in die design, material properties, and casting
techniques specific to the aerospace industry. You will work
closely with engineering teams to ensure that the wax & cores meet
stringent design specifications and quality standards for highly
complex aerospace parts.Requirements:Design and develop precision
wax & core dies for the aerospace investment casting
process.Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to
understand project requirements and design cores that meet tight
tolerances and specifications.Use CAD software (e.g., NX,
SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed die designs and 3D models
for production.Analyze and optimize die designs to improve
efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall casting
quality.Select appropriate materials for wax & core dies, ensuring
they are durable and effective in the casting process.Work closely
with production teams to ensure proper die fabrication, assembly,
and testing.Troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues,
implementing solutions that meet both technical and operational
requirements.Provide technical support and guidance during the
production and testing phases, addressing any die-related
concerns.Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards,
regulatory requirements, and best practices.Maintain accurate
records of designs, modifications, and test results.Continuously
stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and best
practices in die design and aerospace casting.Knowledge, skills,
and abilitiesBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace
Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
Preferred.Proven experience in die design, specifically for wax &
cores in investment casting for aerospace applications.Strong
proficiency with CAD software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD,or
similar).In-depth knowledge of materials used in casting processes
and their behavior under various conditions.Familiarity with
aerospace industry standards and regulations, including AS9100 and
other quality control systems.Strong analytical, problem-solving,
and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and
collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional
teams.Attention to detail and a commitment to producing
high-quality, precision designs.Experience with 3D printing and
rapid prototyping is a plus.Ability to work in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven environment.Experience in the aerospace or defense
sectors.Advanced knowledge of investment casting processes and wax
pattern manufacturing.Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element
Analysis) tools for die and casting process
